Antonio Serratosa house is located in an area of the Old City in a diffuse spatial configuration, in a mixed buildings reality, different architectures coexist. Some of these are in continuous degradation process while others have operated, with the strong development momentum that it´s experiencing the Old City, with some revitalizing capacity. In this context, our project aims to join the latter contributing to the consolidation, definition and character of its surroundings.
Programmatically, It´s proposed to use the ground floor for commercial use while the main floor and two levels annexed offices.
It is proposed to add two floors above the current roof.
The intervention aims to live with the historic building without interfering with its formal value and unit, while not renouncing to define clearly their temporal contexts.
In this regard the proposal includes two levels. In the first instance it is suggested the square block reconstruction by adding a volume determined by the height and geometry of the existing turrets.
The realization of a homogeneous volume is by a continuous net of stainless steel, which, by its color and texture refers to the building board surfaces while expressing the contemporary character of the intervention.
